Booking Cancellation Policy
Default cancellation windows and penalties for gigs.
Version 1 · Effective 2026-08-10
This governance policy defines default booking cancellation rules. Parties may agree to different terms in their contract; where they do, the contract controls.
Cancellation Windows
- More than 30 days before the gig: Either party may cancel without penalty. Any deposit is refunded to the artist.
- 14-30 days before: Deposits may be retained by the venue. Final payout is not owed.
- 7-14 days before: Venue may retain the deposit; artist may owe up to 50% of the agreed payout if the artist cancels.
- Less than 7 days before: Venue may retain the deposit; the cancelling party may owe up to 100% of the agreed payout, subject to a good-faith review.
Force Majeure
Cancellation due to unavoidable circumstances (weather, illness, venue closure) may waive penalties by mutual agreement.
No-Shows
A no-show by the artist forfeits payout and deposit. A no-show by the venue entitles the artist to the full agreed payout where collectable.
Disputes
GigFloSys does not adjudicate disputes. Parties should resolve disputes directly; this policy is a default reference, not a binding ruling.
